Helldorado Days take place in Tombstone from 10/16-10/18. This celebration of the history of Tombstone and the West is a great time to explore Tombstone and Southeast Arizona. The weekend features gunfights, a cornocopia of characters in period dress, a family carnival and a Western Parade. You’ll also find a variety of other Western shows, live Country Western music and great food. If you love Harley Davidsons, this is also a great time to see a very nice collection around town. If you’ve never been to Tombstone, this is a great time and it you’ve been there and thought it was a bit slow…this is a much more festive weekend. More info for Helldorado Days is available at http://www.helldoradodays.com/. There are quite a few other options down in SE Arizona during this same weekend, check out the Tucson Festival Calendar for more info.

For those who enjoy tasting wonderful wines, eating great food and listening to tunes, this is the weekend for you. There are two events for your wine tasting pleasure. The first is the Harvesting of the Vine Festival in Arizona Wine Country at the Village of Elgin Winery. The Festival takes place on both September 26th and 27th from 11am-4pm. For a cost of $18.00 you get lunch, from the Steakout in Sonoita, a Festival wine glass and tastings of great Southern Arizona wines. Live music will also rock from 11am to 3:30pm. At 1:30pm a grape stomping competition will be held, so be sure to rest your legs the night before! More info is available at www.elginwines.com.
The second event is the First Annual Corks and Chords at the Arizona History Museum at the University of Arizona. This event is a bit more upper crust with chef prepared dishes paired with incredible wines and acoustic music. The cost is $50.00 and proceeds will benefit the Arizona Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The event runs from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday the 26th. Take the opportunity to have great foods, great wines and enjoy some of the displays from a wonderful museum while supporting a very worthy charity.
