TUCSON, Ariz. (July 6, 2011) - The Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau has elected four new members to its Board of Directors and named Lynn Ericksen, general manager of the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort, as chair-elect.

Ericksen will begin his term as chair in July 2011, replacing Robert J. Edison, former executive director of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, who served for two years. Ericksen, who has served on the MTCVB Board for three years, is also the secretary of the Arizona Hotel and Lodging Association, treasurer of the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce and sits on the board of the Southern Arizona Lodging and Resort Association. Ericksen is also the general manager of Hilton Tucson El Conquistador, a position he has held for nearly four years.

“It is my honor and privilege to take on this important position and serve with such an outstanding group of leaders,” said Ericksen. “I look forward to representing Tucson’s visitor industry and working collectively to encourage business travel and tourism.”

The four new members, who will also begin their terms in July, are Pete Mangelsdorf, CEO of Old Tucson; Heather Lukach, director of the Visitor Center at University of Arizona; James Trudeau, general manager with United Airlines; and Tom Firth, managing partner at Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort.

The MTCVB thanks immediate past Chair Edison, and outgoing board members Connie Dudley, Serendipity Tour Consultants; Steve Fell, National Bank of Arizona; Doug Kramar, Convention & Group Services: USA, Inc.; and Steve Pagnucco, Universal Avionics Systems Corp.

The MTCVB is an independent, non-profit organization, whose mission is to drive and enhance the economic prosperity of the metropolitan Tucson area by promoting, selling and marketing the region for meetings, conventions and leisure-based tourism.
